Our Pastor

Ron Poarch earned his bachelor's degree from Azusa Pacific University(1986), and his Master's degree (M.A.R.) from Westminster Theological Seminary in California(1993).

Ron and his wife, Jeanne, have been married for 25 years, and have 3 children: Josiah (21), Tirzah (17), and Isaiah (11). They also enjoy rooting for their favorite baseball team (Oakland A's), playing musical instruments, swimming, walking, and golfing.

Who were some of the professors, with Reformed convictions, that influenced Ron in college and seminary? Tom Schreiner, John Frame, John Gerstner, Robert Godfrey, Robert Strimple, and others. They have left their impression over the years of ministry. Ron values the influence of other reformed men - through their writing, teaching, and preaching ministries: R.C. Sproul, John MacArthur, Gary DeMar, James Jordan, Ed Clowney, Ken Gentry, John Gerstner, James White, and John Piper.

Ron has ministered in Woodland since 1987. He was Youth Pastor at Woodland Bible Church, from 1987-1991; 1993-2002. In December, 2002, Ron became pastor of Grace Reformation Church of Woodland, a Reformed, Baptist church. Grace Reformation Church meets for worship each Sunday at 1787 Matmor rd in Woodland (Woodland Christian Jr High / Senior High School) from 9:15am-Noon.
